Monday Macros - Hospital and Liquid Diet Version 5/15/17

Monday Macros - Hospital and Liquid Diet Version 5/15/17

Weight = 145. Weight loss this period = 4 lb. Total weight loss = 106 lbs. Macros for the week = Carb/Fat/Prot - 33/30/37%. Daily avg cals = 589. Body Fat = 10.1%

Don't get too alarmed by the low average calories. I was two days NPO most of the day. NPO = Nothing by mouth. I'm about 900 cals/day now. Fine for the time being while my activity level is as low as it is.  My avg proteins were 54 gr/day and carbs 49 gr/day.

This is what my liquid diet is for the next couple of weeks:

The first diet after surgery is the clear liquid diet. It includes the following liquids:
  • Apple juice
  • Cranberry juice
  • Grape juice
  • Chicken broth
  • Beef broth
  • Flavored gelatin (Jell-O®)
  • Decaf tea and coffee
  • Caffeinated beverages are permitted based on tolerance
  • Popsicles
  • Italian ice

Carbonated drinks (sodas) are not allowed for the first six to eight weeks after surgery. After this time you can try them again in small amounts. Full Liquid Diet

The full liquid diet contains anything on the clear liquid diet, plus:
  • Milk, soy, rice and almond (no chocolate)
  • Cream of wheat, cream of rice, grits
  • Strained creamed soups (no tomato or broccoli)
  • Vanilla and strawberry-flavored ice cream
  • Sherbet
  • Blended, custard styled or whipped yogurt (plain or vanilla only)
  • Vanilla and butterscotch pudding (no chocolate or coconut)
  • Nutritional drinks including Ensure®, Boost®, Carnation Instant Breakfast® (no chocolate-flavored)

Notice I can have all the surgery stuff I want.... too funny

I'm not going to ingest the sugars or the grains (who'd a thunk Cream of Wheat was a liquid?)   So it's strained creamed soups, yogurt (I may be pushing it with the type of yogurt, I'm going for the hugest protein amount), Kefir and some of the Orgain Protein Shakes.  Coconut water is also approved.

This is my caloric intake for the week.  I had my Nissen Fundoplication on Monday.
